Morgan Wallen charged with reckless endangerment on Broadway

Tennessee – NASHVILLE, WSMV After he reportedly flung a chair from the roof of a Broadway bar, country music singer Morgan Wallen spent Sunday night in jail.

Witnesses saw 30-year-old Wallen pick up a chair, toss it over the roof, and laugh about it on Sunday night at approximately 10:45 p.m., according to the arrest affidavit. The bar is six storeys above Broadway on its rooftop.

According to the affidavit, the chair fell three feet away from two Metro Nashville Police Department officers who were down on Broadway. As to the affidavit, the officers verified Wallen’s purported conduct by talking to witnesses, bar workers, and reviewing surveillance footage.

Not long after 12:30 a.m., Wallen was .taken into custody and jailed. He is accused. of one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and three. felonies of reckless endangerment. At after three in the morning, he was. freed from the Davidson County prison after posting a $15,250 bail.

According to the arrest request, Wallen was ejected from Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse at around 11 p.m. for “kicking glass items.” Police stated he got into a verbal altercation with onlookers on the street as they were watching.

“Wallen was given multiple chances by officers to leave with his companions, but he declined to leave,” Metro stated at the time, adding that he posed a risk to both the public and himself.

Wallen recently said that, in 2024, he will honor his Tennessee roots by opening a pub in Nashville named “This Bar.”

Wallen was not present at the CMT 2024 Music Awards in Austin, Texas, on Sunday.

Wallen was caught on camera using a racist slur intoxicated in front of his house in 2021. Following this, CMT took down Wallen’s songs from all of their platforms. Three years have passed since the moratorium was put into place.

Through social media, CMT leaders declared, “We do not tolerate or condone words and actions that are in direct opposition to our core values that celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Wallen was at Chief’s after coming back to Nashville from Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium on April 4 and 5, when he had his national “One Night at a Time” tour begin off. The venue’s attendance record was set on each of those dates.
